Moped rider rushed to hospital after serious A46 crash

The moped driver had serious injuries and police needed to close the road to investigate

Police closed off part of the A46 to investigate a crash between a moped driver and one or more cars.

They closed the A46 northbound at Farndon on the Lincolnshire border as well as the Lodge Lane and Flintham access roads at around 9pm on Wednesday, December 11.

Paramedics rushed the moped driver to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries and closed the road.

It remained closed from 9pm on Wednesday until 9am on Thursday, December 12, causing a build-up of congestion in the area.

Highways England tweeted that the road would open after police had completed their investigating works.

Nottinghamshire Police has urged anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident number 869 of December 11.
