Revolution set to close Lincoln bar after more than a decade

The trading group behind Revolution are closing down loss-making venues

Revolution looks set to close its bar in Lincoln, which has been in the city for more than ten years.

The Revolution Bars Group is planning to shut two loss-making venues in Lincoln and Fallowfield as it tries to reduce the money it pays on rent.

Staff at the venue are still waiting for a closure date and have been told to trade as normal, The Lincolnite understands.

Lincoln’s Revolution bar on Park Street was last refurbished in 2014 when the owners spent £170,000 and hired ten new staff.

In a statement on Friday morning, Revolution said it had secured rent reductions at venues in Huddersfield, Leicester, Newcastle Under Lyme and Manchester.

This was not the case in Lincoln.

As previously reported, Swampy Johns Showbar was the last bar to close in Lincoln after just four months of trading.
