Teens arrested over violent Scunthorpe robberies

Four teenagers are in custody

Police investigating two violent robberies and an attempted robbery in Scunthorpe have arrested four teenagers.

The first incident happened at around 12.30am on New Year’s Day. Further incidents were reported to police at around 2.15am.

In the two later incidents the victims were seriously assaulted and one is being treated at Scunthorpe General Hospital after suffering serious injuries to his head and arm.

In all three, the suspects were said to have been riding a black moped.

Humberside Police arrested two teenage boys aged 15 and 16 on January 1. They arrested two more teens, a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy on Thursday, January 2.

All four teens have been held in custody while enquiries continue.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “If you believe you have seen the moped or have other information that could assist our investigation, please contact us on our non-emergency 101 line, quoting log number 186 of January 1.”
