Around 50 horses gallop away in Lincoln common great escape

The usually placid animals are believed to have escaped through a hole in the fence

Around 50 horses were filmed galloping down a busy street in Lincoln after escaping from the West Common.

The usually placid animals are believed to have escaped through a hole in the fence on Sunday morning before they were spotted on Burton Road.

Police were called to the scene and managed to corral the horses back onto the West Common a couple of hours later.

Danny Wadsworth filmed the horses running down the Burton Road area of the city shortly before police got on the scene.

Lincoln’s West Common used to be used for many years as a horse racing track but it is now common land where horses graze.
