Biker dies in four vehicle A16 crash near Crowland

A police investigation has been launched

A male motorbike rider has died and another person has been arrested after a serious crash on the A16 near Crowland on Friday morning.

As previously reported, the road was closed after the crash involving four vehicles on the A16 at Newborough, which was reported to Cambridgeshire Police at 5.58am on February 7. The collision involved a Honda motorcycle, Peugeot Boxer, Vauxhall Insignia and a Fiat Punto.

Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Another driver was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with minor injuries.

Cambridgeshire Police said a third driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs and the road remains closed to allow an investigation to take place.
