A ball of light was caught on camera soaring through the air in North Hykeham, resembling a shooting star.

Kayleigh Smith told The Lincolnite that her doorbell camera, which points towards Lincoln, captured the moment at 11.34pm on Monday, February 3.

She thinks it could be a meteor, but what do you think it is?

According to NASA’s Solar System Exploration website, meteoroids are objects in space that range in size from dust grains to small asteroids. When meteoroids enter Earth’s atmosphere at high speed and burn up, the fireballs or “shooting stars” are called meteors.
