Lincolnshire police whip round to replace boy’s stolen money

The eight-year-old boy’s Christmas and birthday money had been stolen

Lincolnshire police held a whip-round to give a boy back his birthday and Christmas money, which was stolen by burglars.

The eight-year-old boy lost around £80 in the burglary last month before officers decided to step in and help.

PCs James Knychala and Christopher Windsor-Beck, as well as PS Dan McCormack, all visited the boy in Fulbeck to give the money back.

He smiled non-stop during their visit and especially enjoyed putting on the police car lights.

When the police media team asked if they could share the good deed, the officers asked: “do you have to?”

The family were delighted and wanted to share the story but preferred to keep their names and street private.
