Snow and ice warning issued for Lincolnshire

Expect some disruption to travel

Lincolnshire’s had its fair share of rotten weather in the last month, from river-bursting rain to relentless wind. Now, people in the county are being told to expect snow and ice.

The Met Office issued a yellow severe weather warning for wintry showers and stretches of ice from 11pm on Wednesday, February 26 to 10am on Thursday, February 27.

Forecasters said people should expect:

  • Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
  • Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
  • Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
