BrightHouse and Carluccio’s in administration as coronavirus closes shops

Coronavirus claims two more retail victims.

There may not be many stores left for people to shop at once lockdown is over, as two large chains on Lincoln High Street officially filed for administration.

Restaurant chain Carluccio’s and rent-to-own retailer BrightHouse will be shutting amid financial concerns that will have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

The news from the two chains puts a question mark over 4,400 staff

Carluccio’s officially announced administrators FRP Advisory would be appointed on Monday, March 30.

The Lincolnite reported on this development when likelihood of the move first broke.

BrightHouse, which has a Lincoln store on St. Benedicts Square, has appointed Chris Laverty, Andrew Charters and Sarah O’Toole of Grant Thornton as joint administrators.

They said existing customers should continue to make payments in the usual way.
