Elderly woman, 85, in critical condition after Cleethorpes assault, boy 13 charged

The woman’s injuries are believed to be life-threatening

A boy, 13, has been charged after an alleged assault in a village near Cleethorpes left an 85-year-old woman in a critical condition in hospital.

Humberside Police received a call at around 6.10pm on Tuesday, March 10 that a woman had reportedly been pushed over in the street outside her home on Haile Road in Humberston.

She was immediately taken to hospital where her injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Humberside Police have confirmed that a 13-year-old boy was arrested in connection to the incident. He was charged on Thursday, March 12 with section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH).

He is appearing at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon, but he cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries as part of the investigation. Anyone with information should contact Humberside Police on 101 quoting log number 520 of March 10.
