Thousands of ducklings perish in Caistor fire

The cause of the fire has now been determined

Around 15,000 ducklings were killed after a fire destroyed a poultry shed in Caistor over the weekend.

Crews from Caistor, Lincoln North, Brigg, Immingham East, and Market Rasen attended the scene on Moor Lane on Saturday, February.

The 200 x 30 metre poultry shed was severely damaged by the fire, which was extinguished using three main jets, two hose reels and six breathing apparatus.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue later confirmed the fire was caused by an electrical fault.
