‘Coronavirus’ man breathes on police officer’s face

He will appear in court via video link

A 29-year-old man has been named and charged by police for allegedly breathing in an officer’s face after claiming to have coronavirus.

Lincolnshire Police officers received a call at 2.01am on Friday morning before attending an address in Fosdyke near Boston.

Luke Courtney, of Snaith Avenue in Fosdyke, was arrested on suspicion of breaching the peace. It is alleged that the incident happened after he was taken into custody.

He has since been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and resisting a constable in execution of their duty.

He is due to appear before Lincoln Magistrates Court, via video link, on Saturday, April 4.
