Developer looks to expand Heckington affordable homes plans

There will be a total of 55 affordable homes in the area

A developer wants to build a further 33 new affordable homes in Heckington.

Lindum Group has applied to North Kesteven Council for permission for the development on land to the east of Welchman Way.

The scheme would include a mix of two and three bed-room semi-detached houses with gardens and parking provision.

The plans follow on from a previous 22-home build completed in 2016 which created Welchman Way and would be accessed via the new development from Kyme Road.

How the site could be laid out.

In documents before the authority, the developers said: “The proposed development will make a noteworthy contribution to affordable housing provision in Heckington and the wider North Kesteven district.

They describe the land as an “underused agricultural field”, which originally formed part of a larger parcel of land before their previous build, which will be bordered by housing.

“The development will see the continued development of this area of Heckington for affordable housing, building on the successful development of the 2016 scheme,” said the documents
