Lincoln Botanist ready to open — as soon as they’re allowed

Good progress on site

Cocktail bar chain The Botanist will be ready to open in Lincoln’s Cornhill as soon as government guidance allows them to do so.

The Botanist is one of the brands launched by the New World Trading Company, who had hoped to open the Lincoln bar by the end of May or early June.

The coronavirus crisis got in the way of those plans, but it didn’t stop workers making progress at the site this month.

The company confirmed to The Lincolnite that it is still 100% committed to opening and is nearly ready to go.

The new bar will also create in the region of 60 jobs.

The coronavirus pandemic will impact on the decision as to whether or not the bar can open this summer. There is no proposed opening date yet as the company focuses on the process of re-opening the rest of its estate.

Lincolnshire Co-op had signed The Botanist to an 8,000 square foot bar/restaurant split over ground and first floors located in the third phase of the Cornhill Quarter development, which sits opposite the completed Corn Exchange Building.

The nearby Exchange Square will provide a new public space for the city, as well as outdoor seating for The Botanist.

Healthy Vietnamese street food restaurant Pho and the Everyman Cinema will be in the same building as The Botanist.
