Man seriously injured in Grimsby assault

Police believe it was an isolated incident

A man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he is in a stable condition, after an assault in Grimsby.

Humberside Police were called to an altercation inside a premises on Duncombe Street just before 6.40pm on Saturday, July 25.

The victim left the premises and it is believed that around three to four men arrived in a number of hatchback cars shortly after.

The assault then took place and officers attended. Police believe it was an isolated incident.

Detective Inspector Tom Kelly said: “Our investigation into this assault remains active and we have been investigating many lines of enquiry to find the people responsible.

“I want to reassure the local community that we believe this incident to be isolated and are doing everything we can to bring those responsible in.

“Violence of any kind will not be tolerated and our local teams patrol regularly in the area to allow them to deal with anyone causing harm quickly.”
