Three died in separate crashes on Greater Lincolnshire roads

Several other people were injured

Two women and a man died, and several others were injured, in three separate crashes on Greater Lincolnshire’s roads on Wednesday evening.

A female motorbike rider in her 30s died after a crash on the A52 at Barrowby and another woman suffered fatal injuries on the A16 at Louth. A male scooter rider died after a crash on the A18 Kingsway in Scunthorpe.

A16 at Louth

A collision on London Road at Burwell, involving a silver Peugeot 208, a silver Ford Fiesta and a grey Mercedes GLA, was reported to police at 6.21pm.

A 29-year-old woman died at the scene and several people remain in hospital and are receiving treatment for their injuries. A man was also arrested and remains in custody.

Police would particularly like to hear from anyone who witnessed or captured footage of the Mercedes GLA prior to the collision.

A52 at Barrowby

A single vehicle collision involving a motorbike happened on the A52 between Denton Lane and Allington Lane at 7.31pm.

A woman in her 30s, who was riding the motorcycle, did not survive her injuries.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage for the Barrowby or Louth collisions should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 372 (Louth) or 406 (Barrowby) of July 15.

Scunthorpe

A crash involving a scooter and a car happened on the A18 Kingsway in Scunthorpe at the junction with Brumby Wood Lane at around 6pm.

Emergency first aid was provided to the scooter rider at the scene, but he was pronounced dead a short time after. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.

The family of the scooter rider have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
