Updated case numbers will be released later today, however, according to government figures for Wednesday the total for Lincolnshire remained unchanged at 1,158.

North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire numbers stayed steady at 524 and 166 respectively.

It means the total for the Greater Lincolnshire is 1,848.

However, the figures are expected to rise “significantly” as “community testing” data from Lincolnshire Showground, mobile testing units and home test kits is filtered down to local authorities.

Health bosses have been calling for the data for weeks but have only recently received it and are still going through the numbers.
