Up to 40 more redundancies at Lincoln engineering firm

Chinese-owned business has been outsourcing more manufacturing

Dynex Semiconductor in Lincoln is looking to make up to new 40 redundancies, according to sources.

The company refused to answer any questions about the plans, but did not deny the process was ongoing.

The business on Doddington Road has been slowly shedding staff in the past five years.

In 2015 it was reported that up to 30 staff would lose their jobs after the company admitted financial difficulties.

Nearly 40 redundancies were made by the company in 2017 and 2018, before later saying no further redundancies were planned.

It is now understood that up to 40 redundancies will be made in the near future.

Dynex Semiconductor is a subsidiary company of Chinese-owned Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Corporation Ltd, with a UK based in-house manufacturing plant.

It also has the ability to outsource high quantities to facilities in China.
