First look inside the new Lincoln Botanist bar

Just over 10 days until you can go

Cocktail bar chain The Botanist is ready to open on Tuesday, August 18 and The Lincolnite went for an exclusive first look inside.

The main bar will be on the ground floor of the two-storey unit in the Cornhill, off the High Street, with the main restaurant and kitchen space upstairs.

Although it may not be possible for the venue to host its planned live music sessions due to coronavirus restrictions, there will be plenty for people to enjoy.

Colourful cocktails, a large beer and ale list, and pub classics all feature on a varied menu.

The city council approved for the bar to have temporary extra space outside for more seating to help with social distancing.

Liam Wood, Head of Openings at The New World Trading Company, told The Lincolnite: “The whole team are absolutely buzzing to get started and the venue is looking even more beautiful now it’s got bottles, glasses and plates in it.”

The restaurant area includes a mural of Joseph Banks, a famous botanist who has links to Lincoln due to his brother living here.
