Imps re-sign Tottenham defender on loan

Another familiar face returns to Lincoln City

By Local Democracy Reporter

Lincoln City has brought Timothy ‘TJ’ Eyoma back to the club on a season long loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-year-old defender signed for the Imps last January on loan, but had limited opportunity to play due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

TJ now returns to the LNER Stadium for another season and has said he is “grateful for the opportunity” to work for Lincoln boss Michael Appleton.

“Michael likes to develop young players, and this is a reason why I wanted to return.

“I feel like I’ll play games which will develop me further as a player, and hopefully my ability can contribute towards the team. I can’t wait to get going.”

TJ has featured for England at youth level up to under-19s, winning the 2017 FIFA World Cup with the under-17s, as well as reaching the UEFA European under-17 Championship final.

Imps manager Michael Appleton has said: “We are delighted to have TJ back with us.

“He was very unfortunate not to get some game time before we had to stop due to the pandemic.

“He’s a very strong and aggressive athlete, but also very comfortable on the ball. He’ll be a great addition to the squad.”

TJ is the sixth new signing at Lincoln City this summer, following the signings of James Jones, Lewis Montsma, Ethan Ross, Conor McGrandles and Liam Bridcutt.
