Imps begin contact training for new season

By Local Democracy Reporter

Staff and players at Lincoln City Football Club are returning to training after all testing negative for COVID-19.

The Imps can now start pre-season training for the beginning of the new campaign, Lincoln’s second in League One after finishing 16th last season.

A round of coronavirus tests all came back negative at Lincoln City, allowing the club to return to the training ground.

The players are entering stage two protocol, which allows the squad to start contact training on the pitch.

People arrived for the first day of training on Tuesday, with strict guidelines still in place upon entry.

Everyone was greeted at their cars by a member of staff wearing full PPE, who checked temperatures to allow for a safe return.

It will be the first full training session for James Jones, Lewis Montsma, Ethan Ross and Conor McGrandles, who all joined the Imps over the last few weeks.

The club will be preparing for the 2020/21 season, which is due to start on the weekend of September 12.
