Coronavirus cases at two Sleaford sports clubs

Upcoming fixtures postponed

Two sports clubs in Sleaford have postponed upcoming fixtures due to positive cases of COVID-19.

Sleaford Town Football Club said that Wednesday night’s fixture against Pinchbeck United has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test and after guidance from Public Health England.

Sleaford Cricket Club said a positive case of coronavirus was reported by a visitor to the clubhouse on Sunday afternoon between 2.30pm and 5pm.

All visitors who may have come into contact with the individual should be contacted through NHS Track and Trace.

The club said: “Whilst we are confident this has not affected the playing side, safety of our players, members and spectators is paramount.

“Therefore the committee has taken the decision to suspend all cricket activity until and including Friday, September 11. During this time, the clubhouse will undergo a thorough clean.

“Our intention is to engage with key stakeholders across the cricket network to ensure a safe return to cricket at our club.”
