Wainfleet pub closes due to owner’s health

Customers were full of praise

A pub in Wainfleet All Saints has shut down due to the health of its current owner.

When confirming the closure, Teresa Saunders said in a post on the Angel Inn’s Facebook page that it was the “saddest status” she’d had to write for the pub.

When pubs were given the go ahead to reopen in July, The Angel Inn, which is located on the High Street in the town, said it would not be reopening yet due to its size and all of the government guidelines.

Teresa confirmed this week that she is not reopening the pub at all now due to her health, medication and treatment that she is having, but praised all of her supportive customers.

The pub confirmed its closure on social media.

Customers expressed their sadness at the news, including Cat Henderson who said: “That’s gutting to hear Teresa. I had some ace nights in there and have heard so many wishing for it to reopen.

“It’s a place where I’ve met some great people too. Good luck to you all on the paths you have redirected to. Thanks for the memories.”

Kerry Kerrance Schofield said: “So sorry to hear this. We have so many happy memories with you here. Now time for you to relax and look after yourself.

“Sending you all the best love and well wishes for your future from all of us Schofield bears.”
