No-ho-ho! Lincoln Santa Fun run cancelled

Give it a go online instead

The traditional Lincoln Santa Fun Run has been cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis, but it will take place virtually instead.

There are 1,000 places available for the virtual event and the final date for registration will be December 21 or when the stock of Santa suits has run out – see full details here.

Registration costs £10 and includes a Santa suit and a personal runner number.

People can plan their own event anytime between December 1 and 23.

Once completed entrants are encouraged to post photos, video messages and stories about themselves and their teams on the event’s Facebook page to help bring the Santa fun run community together virtually.

The virtual event will be run in support of and raise money for NHS and care service staff and charities.

All entrants who register will be entitled to preferential early bird registration for the December 2021 event.

Ray Peters, one of the organisers of the charity event run by the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia, told The Lincolnite: “This will be our 15th event and as one of the longest running Santa Fun Runs in the UK, we would like to keep this fantastic event alive so that we can be back next year in our traditional format, running, walking pulling and pushing around the historic streets of uphill Lincoln in aid of all the local worthy causes we and our teams taking part support.”
