Two charged after assaults on emergency workers

Two people have been charged with assaulting emergency services workers after incidents over the weekend.

Bethany Middleton (27) of Pryme Road, Scunthorpe, was arrested and charged in relation to three assaults on police officers at around 7:00pm on Sunday 17 April.

A 15-year-old boy from Grimsby, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with assaulting an emergency services worker.

Superintendent Paul French said: “My colleagues come to work to protect people and keep people safe and I want to make it absolutely clear that we will not tolerate them being attacked just for doing their job.

“Anyone who thinks they can get away with assaulting emergency services workers should think again. We will always look to take action and seek prosecution for those individuals who commit such offences.”
