Walk-in COVID-19 jabs for 5-11-year-olds in Lincolnshire this week

Chance for children to get vaccinated

By Local Democracy Reporter

A series of pop-up vaccination sessions have been arranged in Lincolnshire this week to offer COVID-19 jabs to 5-11-year-olds.

Healthy 5-11-year-olds were made the next cohort eligible for coronavirus vaccinations at the beginning of April, following recommendation by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation.

The eligible young people will be offered two paediatric doses of the vaccine, which is smaller than doses given to over-12s, with at least 12 weeks left between jabs.

In line with the rollout extension, there will be pop-up sites across Lincolnshire this week to allow 5-11-year-olds to get their vaccination without the need for an appointment.

Parents or guardians with parental responsibility will be able to provide consent for the jab in person when at one of the walk-in sessions.

These pop-up sessions will take place on the following dates:

  • Thursday, April 7 – Sudbrooke Village Hall, Scothern Lane, Sudbrooke, LN2 2QT (between 10am and 5pm)
  • Friday, April 8 – The Venue, Navenby, Lincoln, LN5 0JJ (between 3pm and 6pm)
  • Saturday, April 9 – Darby and Joan Hall, South Street, Bourne, PE10 9LY (between 10am and 4pm)
  • Sunday, April 10 – Darby and Joan Hall, South Street, Bourne, PE10 9LY (between 10am and 4pm)

Appointments can still be booked by calling 119 or visiting the National Booking Service online, whether that be first, second, third or spring booster jabs.
