🐂 Stamford’s historic bull running: A tradition rooted in the 13th century

Although bull running is more associated with Pamplona in Spain, it was also once popular in Stamford in Lincolnshire.

David Clark, in his book ‘It happened in Lincolnshire’ reveals that bull running took place in two locations in Britain – Stamford, and Tutbury, Staffordshire. He says that the key difference in the English tradition was that runners usually stayed behind the bull.
