The second and final day of the 2014 Lincolnshire Show saw thousands enjoy exciting entertainment, shopping and special guests, despite a few brief showers.
The show ran on Wednesday June 18 and Thursday, June 19 at the Lincolnshire Showground.
During the morning of the final show day, children at the Lincolnshire Sport area were able to meet inspiring Lincoln sports personalities and ask questions about sporting opportunities in the county.
Lincoln’s four-times paralympic medalist Jade Etherington spent the day meeting fans and celebrating all things Lincolnshire.
Jade Etherington said: “This is a great opportunity for children to try different sports and activities. Lincolnshire Sport do so much to incorporate great sporting opportunities with fun events.
“I absolutely love coming back to Lincolnshire, I always come back as soon as I can and it’s just brilliant that the county can host something like this and I love that it brings everybody together.”
Also attending the event and speaking to local businesses and schools was Lincolnshire Racing Driver Jack Harvey.
Jack said: “I actually have quite a bit of heritage at the Lincolnshire Show, my grandad used to show livestock here many years ago so it’s great to now see for myself.
“It’s great to see so many people here. Last year I was lucky enough to win Lincolnshire’s Sportsman of the Year and it’s great to pass on advice to children today.
“My favourite thing about being a yellowbelly has to be Lincoln. I’m very lucky, I get to travel all around the world but I always look forward to coming back to the place I call home.”
Honorary Show Director Richard Collet said: “I have been a steward for over 40 years. I always think every year is our best year. The weather has been a huge help and it’s been a lovely couple of days. From what I could gather, everyone has really enjoyed it.
“The agriculture size will always be a base but we try to offer entertainment and lots of things for the kids to do. It takes a lot of organising but it makes the show great.”
Mr Needham said: ” I’ve spent the last 30 years stewarding and directing various parts. The show has evolved over the years from being purely agricultural exhibitions to include the fantastic school’s challenge and amazing entertainment.
“As president, it’s a great honour to be a part of and I have been meeting a lot of very happy people having a wonderful time.”
