The Jekyll and Hyde show will run in August 2017, with tickets going on sale in the New Year.
This hit performance was written for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse based on the classic novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.
The musical is a much lighter take than the original gothic horror and explores the epic struggle of man between good and evil.
The powerful pop rock music charts the struggle of a doctor attempting to find a cure for his father’s mental illness, which goes drastically wrong and creates an alter ego who soon wreaks havoc on the streets of Victorian London.
Director, Ben Poole, who has agreed to resume his role as a volunteer producer and director, said: “It’s about building community, nurturing local talent and bringing a fresh generation of visitors to this beautiful building and city, all while raising much needed funds for the cathedral we love.
“At the moment we are looking for actors, dancers and singers and will be throwing open the doors again to anyone who wishes to take part.
“There will be an initial meeting in the main hall of the Priory Witham Academy school at 7pm on Thursday, September 22 and then rehearsals will begin the following Tuesday at the same venue and time.
The Reverend Canon Dr Mark Hocknull, Chancellor of Lincoln Cathedral said: “The ‘Theatre in the Nave project’ in Lincoln Cathedral is a marvellous community event, bringing many different people together to use their gifts and talents.”
