A new luxury day centre for dogs, complete with play equipment, couches, beds and games, has opened its doors in Lincoln.
The Dog Members’ Club in South Hykeham is located on Roman Way, just off the A1434 Newark Road, opposite Pennell’s Garden Centre.
The team welcomed a party of excited pooches on their open day last week and are already taking bookings.
Dog Members’ Club boasts a 1500 sq ft playroom and a secure outside yard so the pets can enjoy some fresh air while their owners are at work or away.
All pooches go through an enrolment process to ensure they socialize well with other dogs and owners pay a membership fee to join the club and are issued with a special tag for their pet.
Membership fees range from bronze at £25 to gold at £295 for the whole year (or up to £29.95 per month) and the hourly rate ranges from £2.50 to £1.80 an hour depending on the level of membership.
One happy customer.
Each member receives a welcome pack including treats and toys, personalised membership tag, free guest passes for non-member dogs and a member activity book – which is completed each day the dog comes to club to inform owners of their pets’ activity, behaviour, and health.
Special events are planned through the year and include Puppy Play Sessions, Seasonal Fairs and Open Evenings.
During their stay at the centre experienced staff ensure the dogs are involved in social play, treated with love and affection and good behavior is rewarded with treats.
Staff only use dog-friendly cleaning products and have the welfare of the dogs as the highest priority.
Centre manager Helen Grimsey said: “Even at age six I knew I wanted to work with dogs and I have always had them as pets.”
“I’ve worked for some great companies including Porsche, John Lewis and Sainsbury’s in various roles but the dream never died and in 2008 I started working for a dog day care centre – where my interest in behavior, training and dog nutrition bloomed.”
“I’m really excited about the new centre and it’s my ongoing mission is to make dogs happy, well-socialised, stimulated and, at the end of each day, tired and content.”
