Lincoln Holiday Retreat was the focus of this evening’s episode of Four in a Bed as owner Debbie Grant continued to battle her competitors to try and win the title.
The initial first impression from her opponents was very positive, with one saying it was gorgeous and out of this world.
With the house, lodge and cottage all available, Debbie gave her guests a warm welcome and her hosting skills were rated very highly.
There was some pickiness by some over dust and the lack of a cooked breakfast option, but Debbie and Lincoln Holiday Retreat still did the city proud.
Debbie took her guests to Lincoln’s Victorian prison to take in some of the city’s culture before going for a meal at Cafe Zoot.
Debbie had a great time filming and she told The Lincolnite: “When the film crew arrived my team and I were very excited. I was the third to go in the competition.
“Preparations had been planned from early in the morning. All contestants had stayed in local hotels. They had already seen our beautiful city.
“Channel 4 staff loved the retreat and Lincoln. They enjoyed the space and magic that night time here with awesome lights brings.
“They took good care of us. Buffet lunch was ordered locally and delivered. All expenses were paid throughout the show. The banter was great.
“I actually took every day non-judgemental and spoke with honesty from the heart professionally. I’m starting to see the game players, I won’t be joining them.
“I feel game players are showing cards now. It’s like a murder mystery. Humour, deceit and tragedy.”
When asked about the feedback given to her by her competitors and if that would affect future plans, she added: “I wouldn’t change anything. I was judged on every inch of my retreat as accommodation goes.
“They were all judged on just bed and bathroom. I may have missed some things, but overall I think my place was spot on. It’s hard to be perfect, but I do aim for it.”
There is one accommodation left to be judged on Thursday before the winner is crowned on Friday.
Debbie told The Lincolnite that there is a twist at the end of the week she doesn’t believe has ever happened on the show before.
She is unable to disclose what this is at the moment, so make sure not to miss Thursday and Friday’s episodes at 5pm on Channel 4.
