Choc-a lot of frustration as festival cancelled

Refunds will be processed in the future

A Willy Wonka inspired chocolate festival due to come to Lincoln next week has been cancelled due to “unforeseen logistical issues”.

As previously reported, The Engine Shed was due to host The Fantastical Chocolate Festival on Saturday, March 16.

Refunds will be processed on the day the event was supposed to happen and should be in people’s accounts within five to seven days, according to organisers Mega Events.

Ticket holders should already have received a cancellation email from Mega Events with a further email due from Eventbrite once refunds are processed.

Any queries regarding refunds should go directly to Eventbrite but customers can also contact Mega Events with any other questions.

A post on the event’s Facebook page said: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen logistical issues that would prevent us from being able to deliver the show to its full potential at the venue, we are regrettably unable to bring the show to Lincoln on the March 16 2019.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. Delivering a great experience for our guests is our absolute priority and sadly we do not feel we would be able to meet peoples expectations in this space.”

Half day adult tickets were sold for £9 with child tickets priced at £6. Included with the event was due to be a cotton festival bag to collect goodies as well as a mug and a skewer for dipping in chocolate fountains.

It is not yet clear whether or not the event will be re-arranged in the future.
