A Wetherspoon pub in Grimsby has confirmed it will close its doors for good next month.

The Ice Barque on Frederick Ward Way is set to shut on November 2.

A spokesperson for Wetherspoon confirmed that staff working at the site have been reassigned to alternative venues.

Eddie Gershon from the chain said: “We can confirm that The Ice Barque in Grimsby is to close.

“The final day of trading at the pub is November 2.

“No jobs will be lost as a result of the closure as staff will be relocated to The Yarborough Hotel in the town and other Wetherspoon pubs in the region.

“We appreciate that The Ice Barque’s loyal customers will be disappointed, however Wetherspoon has to make commercial decisions for the benefit of the company and as a result decided to close the pub on November 2.”
