Firefighters have been scrambled to a house fire in Spalding.

The severe fire took place at around 5.45pm on April 10 at a house off Holyrood Walk on the Windsor Estate.

Two fire crews from Spalding attended, along with crews from Holbeach and Crowland.

The fire was extinguished using six breathing apparatus, two hose reels, thermal imaging cameras and a number of ladders.

The fire caused severe damage to the first floor bedroom and the roof space of the semi-detached house.

The rest of the property was damaged by smoke, as was the roof space of the adjoining property.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

According to eyewitnesses, the road was closed off while firefighters attended the scene.
