A153 to undergo patching works next month

Repairs are taking place ahead of future surface dressing in the area.

Patching works will take place on the A153 near Sleaford next month, with motorists warned to expect delays.

The work on the stretch of road between the A17 and Speedway Corner is expected to last five days once it begins on Monday, October 9.

A convoy system will be put in place to escort the vehicles through the site as the road remains open.

Repairs are taking place ahead of future surface dressing in the area.

Mark Heaton, programme leader for surfacing and patching, said: “The road is to be surface dressed in the near future, and we need to get these repairs done ahead of that.

“Closing the road would require a lengthy diversion so we’ll be using a convoy system to manage the traffic instead.

“However, there are likely to be delays so we’d encourage people to leave additional time for their journeys and use an alternative route wherever possible.”
