Sutton On Sea’s Post Office has re-opened at a new location after being temporarily closed for over a year.
The previous post office was temporarily closed in August 2018 due to operational reasons. It re-opened at a new location – SPAR, 19 High Street, Sutton On Sea, Mablethorpe – on Thursday, September 19.
The new opening hours are Monday to Sunday 7am-11pm. This is significantly longer hours than before including all-day Sunday, earlier opening and much later closing.
The branch offers customers a wide range of Post Office services from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items.
People can also take advantage of a wide range of banking services including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks. Car tax and Euros and Dollars on-demand are also available. The services are offered from a low-screened serving point alongside the retail counter.
The SPAR store is run by family-owned convenience store operator Blakemore Retail.
Stewert Waldron, Blakemore Retail Post Office Controller, said: “As a community retailer we are delighted to offer post office services in our convenience stores; local residents can access a wide range of Post Office services during our shop opening hours – in excess of 110 hours a week. We are confident customers will be pleased with the flexibility and convenience of the new Post Office service.”
Damien Haydock, Post Office Multiples Account Executive, added: “We are delighted to be able to restore Post Office service to Sutton On Sea. We will also be making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
