Bogey! All day golf course shut down

“I have thought long and hard about this decision over the last few days and have decided to call it a day”

An all-day golf course in Woodhall Spa has been forced to close down due to a lack of interest.

The Island Green at The Gardens was a place for golfers to practice on their short game, but it was not popular enough.

It was open every day from 9am to 8pm.

David Roth set up the one hole course in Woodhall Spa as a retirement project but decided to call it a day on October 2.

An all-day ticket cost £8 with nine balls included for free and nine holes cost £5 with nine balls included.

Golfers could even take home any balls they had left over.

David wrote on the course’s Facebook page: “I have thought long and hard about this decision over the last few days and have decided to call it a day.

“There is no interest from local golfers for this facility and it has had not much more interest from people visiting the area.

“I will be closing the gates at 8pm tonight for the last time.”

He will now be selling the golf clubs, portacabins and vending machines that he no longer needs.
