A third Aldi store will open in Scunthorpe later this month and create new jobs for the local area.
Team GB Olympic gold medal winning rower Katherine Copeland will cut the ribbon to officially open the new store at the Gallagher Retail Park at 8am on Thursday, January 30. It will stand in 1,254 square metres of retail space and will be run by Store Manager Chris Hamlyn.
It will be open Monday to Saturday from 8am-10pm and on Sundays between 10am and 4pm.
Exclusive offers will run throughout the opening day. The first 30 customers through the door will receive a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s Super 6 range.
The store will offer large chillers and freezers dedicated to fresh, British meat products, as well as a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store, an exclusive section full of Health & Beauty products and more. Aldi’s Specialbuys will be available every Thursday and Sunday, offering value on a wide range of products.
The new store also wants local charities and food banks in Scunthorpe to register with the community engagement platform Neighbourly to receive donations of surplus food from the supermarket. Any charities that would like to partner up with the new store should email [email protected].
Chris Hamlyn, Aldi Store Manager, said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Scunthorpe. It’s set to be a special day as we’ll be celebrating the opening of Aldi’s third store in the area and having Olympic hero, Kat Copeland, join us will make it a morning to remember.”
Rowing star, Kat Copeland, added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store, it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its endless support of Team GB.”
