More than 150 people have died in Lincolnshire’s hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

A further seven were confirmed today (April 26), two recorded at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust and five at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

It means the county-wide death toll now stands at 154.

All patients who died in Lincolnshire’s hospitals have had underlying health conditions.

A spokesperson for ULHT said: “Sadly we can confirm that two further patients who were being cared for in our hospitals, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.

“The patients were both men aged 76 and 90 who had underlying health conditions.

“Their families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

The death toll across the county currently stands at 94 in Lincolnshire and 60 in Northern Lincolnshire.

Meanwhile, a further 336 people have died nationally after testing positive for coronavirus.

NHS England confirmed that the patients were aged between 28 and 100 years old, 22 of them had no known underlying health conditions.

Lincolnshire remembers loved ones lost to coronavirus

More than 90 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in Lincolnshire’s hospitals.

A further five fatalities were confirmed today (April 24) as the death toll reached 91.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust said all of those who died had underlying health conditions.

A spokesperson for ULHT said: “Sadly we can confirm that five further patients who were being cared for in our hospitals, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.

“The patients were three women aged 67, 69 and 85, and two men aged 58 and 76. All had underlying health conditions.

“Their families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

No further deaths were recorded at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust hospitals.

It means the total death toll across Greater Lincolnshire has reached 143.

It comes as the number of confirmed cases in the wider county passed 1,000 yesterday.

Public health officials put the rise down to increased testing across Lincolnshire.
