We’re thrilled to announce that MyLocal, the innovative media platform by Stonebow Media and The Lincolnite, has been shortlisted in the coveted “News Media App of the Year” category at the Future of Journalism Awards 2023.

This landmark achievement comes amidst intense competition, with MyLocal standing shoulder-to-shoulder with renowned global apps including The Spectator App, Financial Times Edit, PinkNews, and Informed News.

Yet, this isn’t surprising as MyLocal, incorporating The Lincolnite, has been consistently challenging the status quo, building a digital future for local communities, and combating misinformation in the era of social media.

Our journey to transform the local media landscape has begun to stir the industry. The recognition from the Press Gazette, a respected authority in journalism, is a testament to our innovative approach to empowering independent local publishers and engaging local communities.

“This nomination is more than an award, it’s an affirmation of our mission to deliver trust, engagement, and a rich mix of multimedia content to local communities. We are reimagining local media for the digital age, and this is just the beginning,” said MyLocal Founder Daniel Ionescu.

The Future of Journalism Awards winners will be unveiled in a ceremony in London later this year.

“We are excited and look forward to celebrating the industry’s brightest and best. And, as always, we’re committed to our users, local publishers, and communities. Stay tuned for more from MyLocal – the journey is just getting started!” added Katrina Burill, MyLocal COO.

The new seasonal Marco Pierre White menu that has all the hallmarks of one of Britain’s greatest chefs has been launched at the popular Lincoln restaurant.

Featuring a mouth-watering mix of classic dishes perfect for the longer, lighter days, the spring set menu has been revealed at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill at Brayford Wharf North.

Reflecting Pierre White’s ethos of serving simple but classically prepared cuisine, the dishes will, it is hoped appeal to a wide range of guests and budgets. Those who fancy the seasonal set menu will find a enough choice to want to go back again and again.

Included on the starters is a Potage Paysanne Light Curried Leek & Potato Soup served with cheddar croutons, a Croustade of Red Pepper with torn mozzarella or Meatballs on toasted sourdough.

The mains are just as varied and includes a Roasted Root Vegetable & Bean Cassoulet with pomodoro, Gnocchi Sophia Loren in a creamy sauce with Long Clawson stilton, a Seabass Fillet with crushed buttered charlotte potatoes or the popular Butcher’s Steak served with Koffmann chips.

Patrick Basson, restaurant and bar manager said: “It’s really exciting to bring out a new spring menu and has all the hall marks of Marco’s ethos of dining out. It features some classic favourites and there are some showstopping new dishes to try and are all fantastic value for our customers.

“People love to eat out, even if it is just going to somewhere casual and the new sprig menu is focused around our belief that good quality food should be an experience that is shared and enjoyed with friends and family, whatever the occasion.

“If you just want a starter that’s fine. If you just want a main, that’s fine. It’s not pretentious, just good quality food served in a relaxed environment.”
