A pedestrian has been involved in a collision with a car on Laughton Way near the junction of Cabourne Avenue in Lincoln.

The incident involving a pedestrian and a blue BMW occurred at 15:22pm on Monday, November 5.

Both paramedics and police are at the scene, although injuries aren’t thought to be serious at this time.

The road will remain open, however delays are to be expected and Stagecoach East Midlands have tweeted that services 7 and 8 are having to divert via Sudbrooke Drive in both directions.

Lincolnshire Police said: “A collision occurred at 15:22 on Monday 5 between a pedestrian and a blue BMW. At present we believe there only to be minor injuries and we are not looking to make any arrests.

“Roads are to remain open, traffic delays are to be expected.”

The Lincolnshire Police incident number is 266 of November 5.

Hundreds of people in Lincoln will gather this Remembrance Day to honour those who lost their lives in times of conflict.

Remembrance Sunday falls on Sunday 11, this year marking the end of the First World War when guns finally fell silent.

Several services are taking place throughout the week. Here is a small selection of Remembrance events happening in Lincoln.

Remembrance Parade

  • A military parade will take place in Lincoln High Street on Saturday 10 to commemorate 100 years since the Armistice was signed. The parade will include more than 100 men and women serving in the Army, RAF and Royal Navy and will begin at 10:30am from St Martin’s square to the War Memorial on High Street.

Remembrance Services – Lincoln Cathedral

  • A Time to Remember – a service for those who have lost a child at birth or in infancy. Saturday 10 at 10:30am
  • Act of Remembrance and Parade – Sunday 11 at 10:40am 
  • Armistice Bell Ringing – The cathedral bells will be rung as part of a nation-wide act of remembrance. Sunday 11 at 12:30
  • We Will Remember – a sequence of words and music for Remembrance Sunday, including Maurice Durufle’s Requiem sung by the Cathedral Choir. Sunday 11 at 3:45pm

All services are free to attend. There will also be a Remembrance Installation at the Cathedral. The installations are open Monday – Saturday from 7:15am – 6pm and Sunday 7:15am – 5pm. Prices are £8 for adults, £6 for concessions, £4.80 for children (aged 5-16) and free to students with a valid ID and children under five.

Remembrance Service – International Bomber Command Centre

  • Remembrance Service at the Memorial Spire. The IBCC orchestra and Lincoln Orpheus Male Voice Choir and the City of Lincoln choir will be joining the service. Sunday 11 starting at 10am

Museum of Lincolnshire Life Remembrance Day

  • Armistice Day Centenary – commemorate the end of the First World War at the Museum of Lincolnshire life as they invite visitors to think and reflect. Admission is free. Sunday 11, 10am – 4pm.

Armistice 100 – Carol Ann Duffy at the University of Lincoln

  • Poet Laureate and University of Lincoln guest lecturer Carol Ann Duffy will be launching the university’s poetry anthology Armistice 100. The Armistice 100 is a special collection of poems written by UK school and sixth form students to remember the ten million soldiers who were killed in ‘The Great War.’  The event will include a reading of all the shortlisted pieces in ‘Armistice 100’ and the announcement of the winners. The lecture is free to attend however booking is advisedThursday 15, 5:30pm – 7pm.
