Almost 400 homes just to the south of Barton-upon-Humber will be built after its refusal was overturned on appeal.

This was despite acknowledged opposition to the new homes. Banks Property Ltd put forward two years ago outline plans for 390 new homes on 26.3 hectares of agricultural land south of Horkstow Road, Barton.

North Lincolnshire Council has condemned heartless thieves for stealing plaques from a Scunthorpe memorial garden.

Eleven memorial plaques were stolen from Woodlands Memorial Garden in Scunthorpe earlier this week. The theft of one was discovered by a devastated visitor, who alerted staff on Thursday, June 8.
