A plan to turn a Scunthorpe care home into a hotel has been refused on appeal.

Grafton House Care Home, Ashby Road, closed down in 2021 after being branded “unsafe”, and plans had been lodged to turn the site into a hotel or guesthouse.

Scunthorpe MP Holly Mumby-Croft has lobbied a government minister for the town to have its driving theory test centre back.

The facility was closed in 2021, despite her opposition as the town’s MP.
