Quid’ditch’ your plans, a new Harry Potter-themed event is coming to Lincoln, and it’s going to be siriusly good!

‘Dumbledore Day’ will be held by Quintessential Events from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday, September 8 at The Showroom on Tritton Road.

Visitors will be able to go through the Gryfinn’door’ to the The Showroom, which will be transformed into a Harry Potter world.

Fans can experience first hand what it is like to shop in Diagon Alley and join in spell workshops.

There will also be a fancy dress competition for those wanting to arrive in style – it’d be riddikulus to miss it.

After a day of casting spells and meeting owls, visitors can also have a Butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks Bar.

Bin collections in North Kesteven have been delayed this morning following a break-in at the waste management disposal depot overnight.

A total of 28 batteries and connectors were stolen from refuse collection vehicles at the depot on Sleaford Road in Metheringham.

The council is now working with suppliers to get the lorries back on the road. It is expected that all vehicles will be out by 10.30am.

Councillor Richard Wright, Leader of North Kesteven District Council, said: “We’re extremely disappointed that someone has done this and disabled the valuable community service.

“We are working closely with Lincolnshire Police to identify those responsible.

“We are proud of the response of our team and suppliers in making sure collections still take place today.”

Police are dealing with this under incident number 36 of February 7.
