A Lincoln restaurant has been slapped by food hygiene inspectors with one the lowest ratings in the city.

House of Tiago on Silver Street received a one star food hygiene rating out of a possible five by the City of Lincoln Council after an inspection on December 15, 2017.

The Brazilian all-you-can-eat restaurant officially opened its doors in October 2016 and serves a range of meats including steak, Brazilian sausage, chicken and duck hearts.

The rating for the business includes:

  • Hygienic food handling – Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage – Improvement necessary
  • Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building – Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control) to enable good food hygiene – Major improvement necessary
  • Management of food safety – System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future – Generally satisfactory

According to the Scores on the Doors website, the restaurant was also rated:

  • Food Hygiene and Safety – Poor
  • Structural Compliance – Bad
  • Confidence in Management – Some

Only seven other restaurants in the city have been given a one star rating, with none being given a lower score.

The Lincolnite contacted Tiago for a comment but they have not responded.

We all hate waiting to pull out onto a busy road, but one driver in Lincoln proved why it is a good idea to sit it out until a space is available.

Dashcam footage posted on Youtube channel Idiot drivers in Lincolnshire and the UK on January 19 shows one driver narrowly missing two accidents on Outer Circle Road.

After pulling out of the Kwik Fit car park, the driver almost ploughs into a car in the left-hand lane travelling in the direction of Greetwell Road.

It appears to just miss the other vehicle before swerving onto the wrong side of the road.

As this happens, an oncoming car travelling in the direction of Wragby Road is forced to stop to avoid a head-on collision.

The car then moves into the correct lane before continuing with their journey.
