Lincolnshire Police have identified the person who was found dead in a tent off the A46 in Lincoln as missing Sheffield man Karl Hawkins.

Karl, 43, was reported missing on June 19 and was classed as ‘high risk’ by police who said he had a complex medical condition.

His body was found near to the A46 junction with Doddington Road on Tuesday, July 26 and was thought to have been there for a number of weeks due to the level of decomposition.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious. A spokesperson confirmed an inquest has been opened and adjourned to a later late.
