Farcical act to visit Theatre Royal

Fake family: Lincoln Theatre Royal will be showing world renowned play Charley’s Aunt this Autumn.

The Lincoln Theatre Royal will host a performance centred on fraudster family members next month. As part of the theatre’s Repertory season, the 19th century play Charley’s Aunt will be in Lincoln September 8-11, with a star-studded cast.

Broadcaster Tim Samuels will star alongside Henry George, Eloise Irvings from Holby City, and Neil Stacey. They will star alongside returning actors Isla Carter, Glyn Grain and Nick Waring.

The internationally known play, which has starred on Broadway and the West End for years, focuses on Charley’s aunt who is coming to visit. Her visit is important because if Charley wants to ask Amy’s hand in marriage before she goes away, he’ll need his aunt’s agreement. Also his friend Jack needs his aunt to act as chaperone to his love interest, Kitty.

However, when her visit is delayed, the pair decide to get an eccentric friend to pretend to be the aunt, which proves to be a mistake, especially when the real aunt is forever drawing closer.

The showings start at 7.30pm, tickets cost from £10.50, and can be bought from the Theatre Royal Box Office.
