Robbed and hit in the head with a metal bar

Head injuries: A 45-year-old local man is recovering in hospital after he was hit in the head with a metal bar and robbed of £300.

A 45-year-old local man was hit in the head with a metal bar and was robbed of £300 on July 30, on the footbridge at the Tentercroft Street Car Park in Lincoln.

Police were called to the scene, and took the victim to the Lincoln County Hospital, where he was treated for head injuries. He was discharged on August 1, and is recovering well.

Officers searched the area and arrested a 33-year-old local man. He was released on conditional bail and re-appeared at the Lincoln Police Station on August 2.

He was then re-bailed pending further enquiries until September 9.
