Carholme residents are busy organising this year’s fun Community Gala day on and around the West Common.
The annual Carholme Community Gala will be on September 26 on West Parade, the West Common, and St Faiths Infant School grounds.
Activities for the day include pony rides, a fly past by RAF Dakota, fun cricket, fancy dress competition, and performances by students and school children.
There will also be West Common tours and musical workshops, as well as food tents and stalls celebrating the West End community.
The event is organised by local residents and councillors, the University of Lincoln, and the local policing team.
City of Lincoln Councillor Neil Murray, said: “Last year’s community gala was a great success, and we want to build on that for this year.
“We’re very excited to have a fly past by RAF Dakota at the beginning of the gala, and lots of activities, including a fancy dress competition, a raffle, and guided tours.
“I’d encourage anyone who is free that day, whether a local resident of Carholme or from elsewhere in the city, to come along and join in the fun!”
The event begins at 2pm and ends at 6pm. There is strictly no parking on site, and toilet facilities will be available.
