Lincoln’s Ice Rink will be busier than ever this year, as it’s already expecting about 2,000 schoolchildren in skates after schools snapped up special deals to skate.
Lincoln BIG decided to offer discount prices to schools and businesses in the county special Christmas deals, which included ice skating, meals and theatre.
According to the organisers, the package deals are going down well with teachers.
Events co-ordinator Rachel Hanson said: “Our theatre and ice skating package, which offered schools the chance to take a party of children to see A Christmas Carol at Lincoln Theatre Royal, followed by lunch and skating, at a discounted price, was fully booked within a week.
“But there is still a chance for groups of all ages to book a trip to see the Drill Hall pantomime, Dick Whittington, followed by skating at a discounted rate.
“They can also add a meal to the package. But people need to book before the end of November.”
Lincoln BIG are encouraging businesses to take advantage of the package, as it could sell their product or entice customers with a free skating ticket.
Lincoln’s annual Ice Rink will be available to the public from November 25 until January 2. Tickets start at £4.95, and can be booked in 45 minute slots..

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has confirmed plans to jet-wash blocked gullies in Leadenham following persistent flooding, which has left residents and businesses in constant fear of property damage during heavy rainfall.
The council intends to jet the A607 outside Leadenham Post Office as an urgent measure to mitigate ongoing flood risks, with a full clean scheduled for January. The announcement comes after a plea from Leadenham Parish Councillor Martyn Everett, who highlighted significant flooding along Sleaford Road.
